Boys Varsity Tennis ties for 4^th Place out of 11 teams in SMAC Tournament on Saturday, October 7^th.

The Lakeview Boys’ Varsity Tennis Team had an excellent showing in the SMAC Tennis Tournament on Saturday, October 7^th.  The team finished tied for 4^th place out of the 11 teams in the event.  Portage Central took 1st, St. Joseph 2^nd, Portage Northern 3^rd, and Lakeview and Gull Lake tied for 4^th.   The Spartans earned 13 points in the tournament.

Top honors for the Spartans was #4 Singles Cole Henkel who took 2^nd place in his flight.  He defeated the teams of Stevensville Lakeshore and St. Joseph before eventually losing to champion Portage Central.

The #1 Doubles Team of Adam Schrader/Vikram Strander earned two points for the team with a victory over Mattawan before losing a close match to Portage Central.  The #2 Doubles team of Zach Baker/James Hager won matches against Battle Creek Central and Mattawan before losing to Portage Central.  The #4 doubles team of John Avery/Soham Desai earned two points with a win over Niles before losing to St. Joseph in the semi finals.

The team finished their dual record at 10-4 and captured the SMAC East regular season title going undefeated.
