The Varsity golf team played its first two matches this week.   Tuesday's opening Jamboree was hosted by Mattawan at Heritage Glen Golf Course.    Mason Evans and Brock Hiltner tied for the low round of the day both shooting 50.   Brennen Haugen shot 51 followed by Jacob VanDin with a 54.    Paul Pawlowicz added a 55 and Lucas Haugen shot 58.    "It was a bit rough the first time out, mainly because the poor weather so far this season has not allowed us to practice much."

The team scored 371 in their first 18 hole round Friday at the Golf Club of Coldwater.    Mason Evans led the Spartans with an 86, while Jacob VanDis posted an 87.    Brock Hiltner and Lucas Haugen rounded out the scoring with a pair of 99's.    "I saw a lot of improvement from our first event on Tuesday.   Its early in the season and I know everyone will start to see their scores dropping to where they want to be in the next couple of weeks."
