The Varsity Wrestling Team competed at the Holt Invitational on Sat. 1/19/19.    Despite the poor road conditions on the ride up and the tournament starting 45 min late, the Spartans had a great day on the mat.   The Spartans entered 8 wrestlers into the event and placed all 8 wrestlers.    Armando Callejas led the Spartans today by winning the 112 lbs Championship.    Armando faced teammate Evan Sheeders in the finals.   Evan’s only loss on the day was to Armando as he finished 2^nd on the day.   Jordan Loss (215 lbs) also went 4-1 on the day with a close 1-0 defeat in the finals to finish 2^nd.     Gabe Livingston finished 3^rd at the 103 lbs weight class by defeating a Holt wrestlers who beat him last season and is ranked in the top 10 for Div. 1 103 pounders.    Bryce Sheeders finished 5^th at 119, while Josh Wright (140) and Andrew Miller (189) both finished in 6^th place.   Josef Quispe completed the medal sweep by placing 7^th at 145.
