Lakeview Girls’ Varsity Tennis

Sturgis Invitational

Date: 4/22/17

The Lakeview Spartans Girls’ Varsity Tennis Team finished the Sturgis Invitational with a 2-1 record.  The tournament was a 4 team dual invitational.  Lakeview defeated Sturgis 5-3, Lakeland 8-0, but lost to Chelsey 5-3.  Chelsey won the invitational with 17 points.  The Spartans took second with 16 points, Sturgis 15 points and Lakeland with 0.  

Lakeview Medalists for the Invitational were #2 Singles Michelle Zhang and #4 Singles Haley Lesiow.

Lakeview improved their dual match record to 6-3.  Match results are as follows:

1 Doubles: Mei Abe/Breh Ruger (LHS) lost to Morgan Moore/Kendall Tucker 7-5, 7-5

2 Doubles: Kyla Marquez/Co Nguyen (LHS) lost to Maddie Pedlow/Julia Schachinjeu 6-3, 6-1

3 Doubles: Kendall Johnson/Madison Schrader (LHS) lost to Abby Barris/Corinne Dale 6-3, 7-6 (3)

4 Doubles: Brigitte Colquhoun/Kelsey Marquez (LHS) lost to Madeline 0’Hara/Madison Chimneae 7-6 (2), 6-4

The Lakeview Girls’ Varsity Tennis Team lost to Chelsey by a score of 5 to 3 at the Sturgis Invitational.  Victories for Lakeview were the singles players were #2 Michelle Zhang, #3 Autumn Babas and #4 Hailey Lesiow.

The Lakeview Girls’ Varsity Tennis Team defeated Sturgis by a score of 5 to 3 at the Sturgis Invitational.  Victories for the singles players were #2 Michelle Zhang and #4 Hailey Lesiow.  Three doubles teams for Lakeview that earned victories were #2 Kyla Marquez and Co Nguyen, #3 Kendall Johnson and Madison Schrader, and #4 Brigitte Colquhoun and Kelsey Marquez.
